Creating a Level Playing Field
WKU’s ‘creating a level playing field’ project, in partnership with WEE North, is designed to support the desired societal change towards more gender equality in line with Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5). Creating a level playing field consists of 5 teaching modules, which include – introduction, ending discrimination against women and girls; eliminating all forms of violence against women; eliminating child, early and forced marriage and ensuring universal access to SRHR services. Each module is followed up by demonstrating gender equity through mixed gender football play. For example, boys can only kick the ball with their weaker foot, or only girls can take a shot on goal etc.
Creating a level playing field is delivered throughout Northern Ghana – all 55 districts – through our 110 programme facilitators.
